Tankei Inoue

Genji 1st (1864) born, Meiji 22nd (1889) died
Also called Yasuji Inoue. Temporary, he was a disciple of Yoshitoshi Tsukioka, but then he became a disciple of Kiyochika Kobayashi at about 15 years old. Kiyochika was more like a guardian or a friend than a master of Tankei Inoue.

Tankei sometimes went out to follow after Kiyochika for sketching scenery, and based on it’s experience, his name “Tankei” was born.
In the Meiji 13th, he made a debut at the age of 17, issuing such as "Asakusabashi Evening Scenery".

After Meiji 17th, he also took into consideration the government regulating for the rapid Westernization, and also began painting civilization pictures, genre paintings, sumo paintings, and even period pictures such as imperial relations and Publication of the Constitution.
Although he was born weakly, in Meiji 22nd, before the marriage, due to beriberi, he fell down at the young age of 26.
