A gorgeous Ukiyoe art by Yoshitoshi Tsukioka depicting the "Yanagisawa uproar" of the Edo period. Oiran is drawn.
Tsunayoshi Tokugawa, the fifth shogun, did not have a baby boy, so Tsunayoshi's mother, Keishoin, consulted with Tsunayoshi’s subordinate Yoshiyasu Yanagisawa.
Yoshiyasu asked for the cooperation of his wife, Osame, who had a good reputation for being a beautiful woman.
Also, with the cooperation of Miuraya in Yoshiwara, he invited the oiran and others to his mansion.
Then, Osame was also dressed as an oiran, and Shogun Tsunayoshi was invited.
Tsunayoshi liked Osame at a glance and did not leave the side.
Yoshiyasu Yanagisawa is said to have achieved an exceptional career advancement.
Miuraya was one of the most prominent licensed red light district in Yoshiwara, and famous Oiran such as Takao and Agemaki were produced.
