During the days of Emperor Ichijo in the middle of the Heian period, many cases that young women being taken away from the capital of Kyoto happened.
It was due to the strongest and most crazy demon in Japanese history, Shutendoji, and his subordinates’ demons.
In 995, the Emperor dispatched Yorimitsu Minamoto, his subordinate 4 strong samurai, and Yasumasa Fujiwara to Oeyama for the extermination of Shutendoji and demons.
Yorimitsu and his team met the old men on the way and received a drink to make the demon sleep.
The old men were incarnations of Hachiman Daibosatsu god.
Yorimitsu and his team arrived at Mt. Oe, pretending to be Yamabushi, and had a drink with Shutendoji and demons, and gave them the drink from God.
When the demons fell asleep, they were exterminated all at once.
Even though Shutendoji only became a neck, he bite into Yorimitsu’s helmet, but he finally stopped moving and was overthrown.
There are many episodes of youkai extermination in Yorimitsu Minamoto and 4 strong samurai.
